I'm Helen; a Self-Taught, Award Winning Photographer.

I don't know where this quote came from .... or who said it but it is one of my favorites. "Good photography speaks through silence."

Photography is my passion and for me, the perfect medium . I am quiet by nature and not very good with words. Photography allows me to show people what I see the way I see it. The freedom to express myself with words!! The saying, 'A picture is worth a thousand words" certainly holds true for me.

When I was younger, in my late teens and early 20's, I was very into photography but I made the mistake of putting my camera down while I was raising my children. I wish I had realized then that I could have done both at the same time. Well, it took me about 20 years to pick my camera back up again and reignite that passion. I did not realize how very much I missed photography and the role it played in my life.

My favorite subjects are sunsets, landscapes, wildlife in its natural habitat and nature in general. I have recently developed an interest in natural pet portraiture and B&W photography.
